Lord Byron

George Byron (1788-1824) was the 6th Baron Byron. As a poet, he was part of the English romantic movement. One of his several mistresses labeled him as “mad, bad, and dangerous to know.”

Byron fought for Greek independence from the Ottoman Empire. He died from fever during the military campaign.

One of his daughters was Ada Lovelace who worked with Charles Babbage on the first computers.

Simone de Beauvoir

Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986) was a French philosopher and writer. Her best known work, “The Second Sex”, was greatly influential on modern feminism.
